Show on Painters of Cape Cod During
our lifetime Cape Cod has transitioned from a quaint, economically deprived peninsula
into a run-on collection of McMansions.
Throughout the change active art
colonies captured fleeting moments on canvas. On Thursday July 30 at
1:00 pm a slideshow will be presented on Painters of Cape Cod.
The
presentation will weave across changes in the Cape's landscape and progression
of artistic traditions.
While Provincetown has been the Cape's most prominent
art colony, painters of note have been active across the Cape.
The program
will run about one hour and afterwards there will be refreshments, coffee, and
informal discussions.
The speaker will be antiques writer Bob Jackman.
OPTIONAL: If you have a painting of Cape Cod, bring it to the show,
and Bob would be happy to comment on it.
