Slideshow
on Antique Federal Furniture
Following
the American Revolution a creative surge swept across the new nation. The
largest and best preserved examples of that surge are pieces of furniture.
On Thursday, February 25th at 1:00 pm a
slideshow will be presented on Antiques Federal Furniture. Both formal
works from urban centers and rural centers will be discussed.
The program
will run about one hour and afterwards there will be refreshments, coffee, and
informal discussions. The speaker will be antiques writer Bob Jackman.
OPTIONAL:
If you have any Federal items, bring them to the show, and Bob will be happy to
comment on it.
Admission is free.
While the talk will be organized
around a sequence of 80 slides, the atmosphere will be informal with questions
and answers throughout the presentation.
Expect to learn a bit, share
some laughs, and have a good time. |
